What we collect

When you buy the guide, we collect your name and email address, the amount and status of your order, and the payment reference that Yoco gives us. We never see or store your card details. Yoco takes the payment on its own secure page.

When you ask for the free chapter, or tick the box at checkout, we collect your email address and where you signed up.

When you use the contact form, we collect your name, your email address and your message.

At checkout we also record your IP address and browser type and, if you arrived from an advert, the campaign details in the link. If you accept cookies, the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics record how you use the site.

Why we collect it

To take payment, deliver your download and answer your questions.

To send the emails you asked for, and a short series of follow-up emails after a purchase or an unfinished checkout. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and it works with one click.

To measure which adverts lead to sales, and to protect our forms from abuse.

How long we keep it

Download links expire after 7 days or 5 downloads. The cookie that remembers which advert you came from lasts 7 days, the cookie that remembers which version of the page you were shown lasts 30 days, and your cookie choice is remembered for 12 months.

Subscriber email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

[To be confirmed: how long order records are kept, for example five years for tax purposes.]

Who processes it

Yoco processes card payments. Supabase stores our order records and the guide file. Google provides our email through Google Workspace and, if you accept cookies, Google Analytics. Render hosts the website.

Meta measures our advertising through the Meta Pixel, if you accept cookies, and through its Conversions API. When you buy, we send Meta a hashed version of your email address, which is a scrambled code and not the address itself, so that it can match the sale to an advert.

Some of these companies store information outside South Africa.

How to request access or deletion

Email hello@matricparent.co.za and tell us what you would like: a copy of the information we hold about you, a correction, or its deletion. We will respond within a reasonable time.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
